While PS3 gamers will be able to pick up the Rock Band bundle complete with a wireless guitar, Xbox 360 gamers will need to purchase their wireless guitar seperately.
The revelation comes as Harmonix's co-founder, Alex Rigopulos, revealed in an OXM podcast that the added cost associated with licensing wireless technology on Microsoft's console would make the bundle too expensive.
"The cost of wireless technology on the Microsoft side is higher, and to be able to offer those bundles at a price point that would be reasonable for consumers it was necessary," he said.
Both the microphone and drums will be wired versions across all platforms, with the bundle including a USB hub to allow for the plugging-in of all peripherals at the same time.
