A list is given of 9 species of Lepidoptera, 3 of Orthoptera, 8 of Coleoptera and 4 of Hemiptera that infest soy bean in the Indian State of Karnataka, together with the type of damage caused or plant part attacked by each species. The principal pests are the larvae of Hedylepta (Lamprosema) indicata (F.), Biloba (Stomopteryx) subsecivella (Zell.), Diacrisia obliqua (Wlk.) and an unidentified Gelechiid borer, all of which damage the leaves.
