Microsoft and three other companies have submitted additional prototype "white space" wireless broadband devices to the Federal Communication Commission's Office of Engineering and Technology for testing. The devices are intended to demonstrate the viability of using the "white spaces" in the spectrum devoted to broadcast television for unlicensed wireless broadband service.
